ABOUT

An SEO tool for people
who are tired of black boxes.

Built by an SEO who wanted Screaming-Frog-style evidence with AI-style explanations, without the enterprise price tag.

How it works

Enter a URL. The crawler reads robots.txt and the sitemap, fetches pages politely, and runs deterministic checks: status codes, canonicals, indexability, titles, headings, images, schema, links, page weight. Findings are scored by severity and priority, then AI writes the explanation and the fix prompt. Every step is traceable to evidence you can re-crawl.

Sources, ranked honestly

Official search-engine documentation first, open web standards second, reputable research third, industry practice fourth, and experimental claims always labeled experimental. Speculation is never presented as fact.

Read-only by design

This free SEO tool will never touch your website, CMS, robots.txt, redirects or DNS. It discovers problems, explains them, prioritizes them and tells you exactly what to do. Implementation stays with you.

Free means free

No accounts, no API keys, no paid database. The core audit needs nothing but a URL, and anything it cannot measure is marked unavailable rather than made up.

What the scores mean

Each sub-score starts at 100 and loses points for open issues, weighted by severity, a CRITICAL costs twenty times a LOW. The overall score is the average of the parts. If a crawl fails completely, categories show N/A instead of a fake zero, exactly as our honest-data policy promises.

Where it goes next

Search Console and PageSpeed integrations, competitor gaps, and local SEO grids, each added only if it can stay free, open and self-hostable. The roadmap is public, the code is readable, and every rule links to the official documentation it came from.

Who is behind it

Nomor SEO is built and maintained by Janak Pokharel, an SEO practitioner who wanted evidence-first audits without enterprise pricing. The code is written to be readable, every rule links to the official documentation it came from, and the same person who builds the tool reads the feedback sent through the contact page.

What you will find on this site

There are three parts. The free SEO audit crawls a website and reports what to fix, with evidence and fix prompts. The free tools are small utilities for everyday SEO jobs, such as previewing a Google listing or generating a robots.txt. The guides on technical SEO, on-page SEO, off-page SEO and AI SEO explain the ideas behind the checks in plain language.

Our editorial standards

Advice on this site follows a simple order of trust: official search engine documentation first, open web standards second, reputable research third and industry practice fourth. Experimental ideas are labelled experimental. When something is a myth, such as an ideal keyword density or a ranking boost from llms.txt, we say so and explain why.

Pages show who wrote them and when they were last updated. If you find a mistake, please tell us through the contact page. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly, and confirmed bugs in the audit become test cases so they cannot return.

How the site is funded

The tools and audit are free to use, with no account and no usage paywall. The site may in future be supported by clearly labelled advertising. If that happens, ads will be marked as advertisements, kept away from the tools themselves, and described in the privacy policy. Ads will never influence what a tool reports or which advice we give.

Privacy in practice

The free tools run in your browser, so what you type into them is not sent to our servers. The audit fetches the public address you submit, analyses it in memory and caches the result for about an hour. There are no accounts, no user database and nothing to delete. The details are in the privacy policy.

Why we label estimates

A lot of SEO software shows precise-looking numbers that come from guesses. We try to do the opposite: when a number is an estimate, such as the pixel width of a title or an AI readiness score, the page says so and shows how it is calculated. When we cannot measure something, we leave it blank. We think a tool that admits its limits is more useful than one that hides them.

Get involved

The best way to help is to use the tools on real sites and tell us when they get something wrong. Describe the page, the finding and why you believe it is mistaken. If you have an idea for a new free tool, describe the job you were trying to do, because the most useful features come from real workflows rather than wish lists.

The principles we follow

Is Nomor SEO affiliated with Google?

No. It is an independent project. It links to Google's public documentation as a source, but Google does not review or endorse it.

Does the audit guarantee better rankings?

No tool can. It finds problems that get in the way, explains them and helps you fix them. Results still depend on your content, your competition and many factors outside any checker's reach.

Can I use the tools for client work?

Yes. They are free to use for personal and professional projects, and nothing you enter is uploaded.

How do I report a mistake?

Use the contact page and include the page address and the finding. Confirmed mistakes are fixed and turned into tests.

What we will not build

We will not sell fake authority scores, estimate search volumes we cannot measure or promise page-one rankings. We will not add features that modify your website without your explicit action. We will not collect personal data to train anything or resell it. These are deliberate limits, and they are the reason you can trust the numbers the tool does show.

Instead, the roadmap focuses on things that stay honest and useful: more checks backed by official documentation, deeper speed measurements, shareable reports, scheduled re-checks and better ways to turn a finding into a finished fix. Suggestions are always welcome.

Built to be used, not just admired

Every part of the site is designed around a simple test: after using it, can a person without SEO training make a better decision about their website? If the answer is no, the feature needs rewriting. That is why findings are written in short sentences, why numbers always come with an explanation and why the tools have no setup, accounts or jargon-heavy settings.

Corrections and feedback policy

When a reader reports a mistake, we reproduce it, fix the page or the rule and note the change in the next update. If a finding in the audit turns out to be a false positive, we add a test fixture that captures the case so the same error cannot ship twice. We read every message in the order it arrives, and reports that include the page address and the finding identifier get answered fastest.
